What is the best game in the world
Thief II took everything right about stealth games, and then added a dash of steampunk-infused magic. Looking Glass Studio crafted a believable world where technology was on the rise and the magic of the old world was on the run https://casinosus-games.com/bonus-sans-depot/. Adding to the mix was the perfect anti-hero who wouldn’t even consider the possibility of saving the world unless it meant no more houses to steal from. Thief II gave the player all the right tools for the perfect heist, along with interactive maps for writing notes. It rewarded taking your time, and listening to some of the best guard banter in any game to date. Silently sprinting along rooftops, ducking through secret mansion passages – the game didn’t just make you feel like a thief, it made you feel like a master of the craft. – Brendan Graeber (Read Our Review)
The original Borderlands captured the attention of gamers, seemingly from out of nowhere, and its sequel took everything that made the original great and expanded on it. From its seamless continuation of the Borderlands vault hunting lore, to its unmatched writing, Borderlands 2 remains the high point in the Borderlands franchise. Borderlands 3 is overflowing with improvements over its predecessor The Pre-Sequel, but Borderlands 2 still can’t be beat for its awesome levels, excellent DLC, and series-best villain, Handsome Jack. – Seth Macy (Read IGN’s Review)
The punishing difficulty of Dark Souls and abstract lore building of Bloodborne meets one of the most ambitious open worlds ever created. Elden Ring used core narrative foundations written by George R.R. Martin to create a staggeringly ambitious RPG packed full of awe-inspiring sights, hard-as-nails bosses and juvenile tributes to all manner of finger-related activities.
2013’s The Last of Us pulled very few punches, choosing to eschew a tidy, walk-into-the-sunset hero’s victory for a morally ambiguous rug pull. Its follow-up was more unlikely still; a revenge tale that put us in the shoes of a character we were encouraged to hate early on. Somehow, The Last of Us Part 2 makes it work, and the warring stories of its beautifully performed dual protagonists are told with no punches pulled, once again leaving us in a more ambiguous space than AAA games would usually allow. Plus, its combat is fluid, it looks gorgeous, and its sinister creature design means it’s genuinely tense from moment to moment. A masterpiece. – Lucy O’Brien (Read Our Review)
Game 5 world series 2024
Before Wednesday, no team had ever come from more than four runs back to win a World Series clincher. And not to suggest it had been a while since anyone even did that … but the only team that had ever come from four runs behind in a clinching game did it as recently as 99 years ago. (That was Pie Traynor’s 1925 Pirates.)
Meanwhile, it’s the first World Series win for Los Angeles superstar Shohei Ohtani, the presumptive NL MVP, who signed a 10-year, $700 million contract with the Dodgers before the season. Ohtani had not appeared in the playoffs before this year. He deferred $680 million of his salary in part to help the franchise spend more around him.
For one brutal inning, the Dodgers did everything they could to maximize the damage. A dropped fly ball was Aaron Judge’s first error of the year, a throw in the dirt was Anthony Volpe’s low point in an otherwise good series, and Cole’s failure to cover first base was almost certainly his biggest mistake of the night. The Yankees gifted the Dodgers five unearned runs in the fifth, and then a catcher’s interference helped set the stage for their two-run rally in the eighth.
With the bases loaded, Yankees ace Gerrit Cole responded with his best stuff of the evening to strike out Gavin Lux and Shohei Ohtani. It seemed Cole had completed a mesmerizing escape when Mookie Betts then hit a weak chopper to Anthony Rizzo at first base. Betts, though, hustled down the line. The ball took Rizzo just far enough from the bag that he could not complete the play himself. As Betts sprinted and touched the base with his left foot, Cole was frozen on the infield, failing to cover first in an inexplicable blunder. The Dodgers scored a run and still had the bases loaded. The rest is history: a Freddie Freeman single that scored two, then a Teoscar Hernández double that brought home two more and tied the game.
• Buehler became the eighth pitcher with a win as a starter and a save in the same postseason series since saves were official in 1969. He joined Ranger Suárez in the 2022 NLCS, Clayton Kershaw in the 2016 NLDS, Madison Bumgarner in the 2014 World Series, Kevin Millwood in the 1999 NLDS, Orel Hershiser in the 1988 NLCS, Catfish Hunter in the 1974 World Series and Jack Billingham in the 1972 World Series.
Game 3 world series
Schmidt had a sparkling 2.85 ERA in his 16 regular-season starts. However, he had a 4.50 ERA in his last four starts, so he’s not nearly as reliable as earlier in the season. He allowed two runs in 4⅔ innings in both of his playoff starts, coincidentally enough. He has never faced the Dodgers.
“Like I’ve been saying the last few days, those days off were huge for me,” Freeman said. “I got my ankle in a spot where every single game afterwards, it’s not as it was in the NLCS and NLDS. … I got my ankle in a spot where I could work on my swing, and I got it into a good spot, thankfully, going into the series.”
“Hopefully we can go be this amazing story and shock the world,” New York manager Aaron Boone said. “But right now it’s about trying to get a lead, trying to grab a game, and force another one, and then on from there. But we’ve got to grab one first.”
The Yankees rotation hasn’t been nearly as good. Game 3 starter Clarke Schmidt was in trouble early and out of the game quickly. He opened with a four-pitch walk to leadoff hitter Ohtani — who was in the Dodgers’ lineup despite dislocating his shoulder in Game 2 — and two batters later, Freeman homered on a two-strike pitch to give the Dodgers an early 2-0 lead. Schmidt walked the first batter of the third inning, too, and Mookie Betts drove in that run. Schmidt was pulled after two more walks loaded the bases in the third, making this the first time all year that he failed to get through at least four innings. Yankees Game 2 starter Carlos Rodón also failed to get through four.

Scott pilgrim vs the world game
Even if you didn’t know who Scott Pilgrim was, the references would hit home to any old-school gamer. If you know the character, they do a spot-on job in telling his story to win the heart of Ramona Flowers.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World received a dose of DLC for both PS3 and X360, adding Knives Chau as a playable character among other extras, but a delay in an upgrade patch to the game over Xbox Live and PSN left players unable to use the new content straight away, as well as missing out on achievements and trophies.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is a side-scrolling beat ’em up game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Chengdu and published by Ubisoft, based on the Scott Pilgrim series of Oni Press graphic novels by Bryan Lee O’Malley and tying in with the release of the film of the same name. The game was originally released digitally for Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation 3 via PlayStation Network in August 2010 before being delisted in December 2014. An updated re-release for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One and Google Stadia titled Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition, was released on January 14, 2021.
Each character starts with only a handful of moves — punches, kicks, jumps, dashes, and blocks — but as enemies are defeated, characters earn experience which unlocks new moves like running tackles and leg sweeps. Defeated enemies drop coins, which can be picked up and spent at the many shops around Toronto. Items will often replenish health, as well as increase various character stats based around strength, speed, defence, and others.
Unlikemany comics-to-film adaptations,Scott Pilgrim vs. The Worldis a loving translation of the source material that seems fully aware of what made the graphic novels so special to so many fans. As a result, the script takes great care to use a lot of the original dialogue and jokes from O’Malley’s comics. It’s a remarkable choice, given that the number of funny people who worked on this movie – including the director – could just as easily devised their own jokes.
